Situation: After having worked at the three major advertising agencies in San Antonio for some time on dozens of different accounts, I decided to go out on my own in a freelance capacity. To do that, I created a new business with no initial clients, no assets, no office.
Action: I named company, designed logo, created marketing materials (including direct mail and a mini portfolio) and contacted prospective clients with my portfolio in hand.
Result: In the 10 years that I operated Flying Terrier Creative Company, I provided creative direction and copy to over 50 advertising agencies and private clients on nearly 4,000 marketing assignments in all media for 10 years.
